BBC根据大卫·麦考利的绘本童书制作了科普动画片《万物运转的秘密 The Way Things Work》，动画以一个猛犸象小岛上的居民在日常生活工作中遇到的各类问题为背景，讲解相关知识。动画片情节生动有趣，而且动画演示各种机械原理也很形象，科普性相当强，和以往分享的英语动画片完全不一样！它强调的是激发孩子潜在逻辑方面的思维，拓展孩子的四维想象力，可以提高儿童的空间感知能力。动画共26集，每集时长13分钟，每集70M左右大小，mkv格式640×480分辨率，英语发音无字幕，适合6-10岁的有一定英语听力基础的儿童观看。全26集目录列表：
